Dave Garforth
Dave Garforth is Technical Director at the Responsible
Plastic Management (RPM) Program.
RPM is a registered social enterprise with a clear environmental focus, established in 2019. The programme recognises the distinctive nature of plastic as a material: while it offers countless solutions across a wide range of sectors—including the built environment—its benefits can be tempered by the potential for harm through overuse and inadequate waste management.
To address these challenges, RPM supports its members by delivering training, business coaching, and the development of standards centred on sustainable plastic use. The programme actively promotes the reduction, reuse, and recycling of plastics, and provides formal recognition for organisations that demonstrate responsible plastic management in practice.
Dave brings over 25 years of experience in the fields of sustainable business development, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and supply chain standards. His career has spanned both Ireland and international settings, where he has consistently applied his expertise to advance responsible practices.
Holding environmental science and technology based degrees, Dave utilises an objective and measured approach to address the complex challenges facing society today. His academic grounding underpins his commitment to evidence-based decision-making and effective solutions.
